Who
we are
If the Missouri Association for Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health had a one word mission statement it would be relationships. We are here to support the healthy, positive development of early relationships which have the single most influential impact on infants and young children’s ability to thrive. Our members are from all over Missouri and we work in a number of fields including psychology, psychiatry, early education and care, social work, law enforcement, health professions and more.

Who
you are
Each member of the Board of Directors provides leadership and governance for MOAIMH-EC; contributes time, talent and treasure; actively participates in a committee; promotes the organization within and beyond their field; and represents and supports members. Board positions are voluntary, and members serve two-year terms. Directors are expected to actively participate in board meetings and activities, and to represent MOAIMH-EC in their regions and fields throughout the year.
We invite individuals who share our passion for this cause to join us. This year, we have recognized the necessity for increased representation from the accounting and legal sectors, including judges, and attorneys, on our Board. Nonetheless, we encourage applicants from all backgrounds to consider this opportunity. Your unique perspectives and experiences can contribute significantly to our mission, and we look forward to receiving applications that reflect a diverse range of insights.
Ideal candidates:
Have a demonstrated commitment to MOAIMH-EC’s mission and vision.
Have a demonstrated and active commitment to racial equity and to learning and applying the Irving Harris Foundation’s Diversity-Informed Tenets for work with infants, children and families. To read more about each tenet, click here.
Are familiar with the operation of a charitable 501(c)(3) organization and/or association (or are willing to learn).
Have the capacity to attend meetings and participate in board activities. Our Board of Directors meets most first Fridays of the month from 12 to 1 pm via Zoom. Additionally, board members spend approximately 5 hours a month helping with Board and/or Committee initiatives.
Are currently a member of MOAIMH-EC (or will join in the process). More information about membership can be found at www.moaimh-ec.org/membership.
Currently serve on one MOAIMH-EC Committee (or will commit to doing so). Find more information about our committees at www.moaimh-ec.org/committees.
